HIT Vision

Based on the educational approach expressed in our school philosophy, "Education is love," and motto, "Always Walk Together with God and Serve Humanity," a specific vision for our university - the "HIT Vision" - has been established.
This vision encompasses the four areas of education, research, alumni and community.

Encouraging Students to Embrace Challenge

Under the HIT Vision, a variety of programs have been developed and offered. However, if the students themselves do not have the desire to embrace challenge, the number of programs that are available is ultimately meaningless. Our desire is for all students, during their time in university, to experience what it is like to commit themselves fully to a challenge. The result will not always be success; there will be failures. However, we believe that with each experience, students become more confident in their abilities and better equipped to become productive members of society.
At HIT, we strive to cultivate such productive members of society by providing a great many challenging opportunities.

Vision 1 Education

A university which produces graduates who contribute to society as technologically proficient and ethically-minded professionals

In these uncertain times, our world needs people who are capable of building more sustainable societies.
Building such societies requires a synthesis of expertise from many different fields. At HIT, we are continually refining the educational strengths that we have developed over the years, ensuring that we remain responsive to an ever-changing society as we strive to cultivate graduates who will contribute to society as technologically proficient and ethically-minded professionals.

Vision 2 Research

A university which pursues research contributing to a more sustainable society

Global warming, large-scale natural disasters and other such phenomena are causing great harm to the environment in which we live.
In 2015, "The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development" was announced, and particular attention has been given to the "Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)" contained within it.
At HIT, we are accelerating the pace of research which will contribute to a more sustainable society within the context of these SDGs.

Vision 3 Alumni

A university with strong ties to alumni who help make the world a better place

There are currently around 48,000 HIT graduates actively contributing to their communities and to society. In order to ensure students at HIT are equipped to become productive members of society, it is important that they understand the situation in society and have a solid awareness of how this is connected with the information they are learning.
At HIT, we seek to foster stronger linkage between students, the university and society by fostering stronger ties between the university and alumni and alumni associations.

Vision4 Community

A university that serves as a creative hub for the local community

Although universities represent large concentrations of knowledge, much of this knowledge is rarely capitalized upon.
Looking ahead, we believe that universities need to be places where people can revisit what they once learned, as well as acquire new knowledge, and they need to be places that are open to consultation and discussion and collaborative research and development.
HIT endeavors to be a center of education and research - a creative hub - for the local community.
