Code of Conduct

Enactment of the Code of Conduct

Hiroshima Institute of Technology's philosophy and motto both serve as a foundation for the educational approaches that we pursue and the environmental and industry-academia collaboration-related charters that we have established. They clearly express the university's principles and policies and are a fundamental guide for all students, faculty and other members of Hiroshima Institute of Technology community. With regard to the aim expressed in our motto, it can be summed up in the three key words of "Society, Environment and Ethics," around which our learning and teaching goals revolve. In the half century since our founding, the fundamental guide by which we have conducted ourselves has helped to foster a university community which values sincerity and interpersonal connection. As we move into our second half century, it is essential that we continue to preserve and practice the values of this university community in our daily work and life on campus.
And it is with this in mind that we have developed and enacted Hiroshima Institute of Technology Code of Conduct.

Hiroshima Institute of Technology Code of Conduct

Hiroshima Institute of Technology Code of Conduct is a guide which governs behavior and decision-making on campus. It is also a guide for how to behave as a responsible member of society. By fostering a sense of collective ownership among faculty and staff, and by incorporating this code into various contexts on campus, we seek to give tangible expression to our principles and policies and, by extension, achieve our core objectives as a university. These core objectives are given below and have been formulated in line with Tsuru Gakuen's medium-to-long term management outline.

  1. Contribute as a prominent university to the development of a more technology-oriented society
  2. Pursue a distinctive educational approach and curriculum (develop a HIT educational brand)
  3. Create truly bright and dynamic learning spaces

HIT: Four Practices

In conjunction with the enactment of Hiroshima Institute of Technology Code of Conduct, we have established the "HIT: Four Practices." Although the HIT: Four Practices and the Code of Conduct exist as two sides of the same coin, these practices are a more concrete expression of the behaviors which embody our school philosophy and motto (society, environment, ethics). The students, faculty and other members of Hiroshima Institute of Technology community should incorporate these practices into their daily life.

Hiroshima Institute of Technology Code of Conduct
