Philosophy and Motto

Racing ever onward towards the future, propelled by an educational legacy spanning more than half a century.

The history of Tsuru Gakuen begins with Noboru Tsuru, fourth son of school patriarch Torataro Tsuru, who, in 1956, sought to carry on his father's more than 60 year legacy of cultivating private education in Hiroshima and putting into practice his teaching that "education is love," by establishing Hiroshima Radio-wave Vocational School in Nishikaniya, Hiroshima City. In the more than half century since then, Tsuru Gakuen has continued to develop a distinctive approach to education based on this educational philosophy.
Currently, Tsuru Gakuen oversees six schools, from primary to university level, each of which is committed to cultivating sound thinking and intellect in the young people who will be tomorrow's leaders.

Philosophy

"Education is love"

These words express what Torataro Tsuru believed education to be at its heart, and they live on as our school philosophy.
We continue to pursue education that never loses sight of this, striving to embody our school patriarch's belief that love is essential to education by ensuring that our students and pupils feel loved and that love is the basis for teaching.

Motto

"Always Walk Together with God and Serve Humanity"

In line with its motto, Tsuru Gakuen seeks to cultivate people of character who are self-controlled, of sound of mind and body, who will "always walk together with God and serve humanity."
In a time filled with challenges, numerous and varied which highlight the true value of education, we work resolutely to fulfill our motto and offer education that serves to benefit society.
